American Idol winner Ruben Studdard has signed up to take part in The Biggest Loser. The singer - who triumphed over Clay Aiken in Idol's second season - will attempt to lose weight on the NBC show in the fall, People reports. Studdard, who was nicknamed the 'Velvet Teddy Bear', is the first famous face to compete on The Biggest Loser. He has previously spoken publicly about his battle with weight loss, telling People in 2006 that one regime with celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson made him "exhausted" and "sick".
